Collegiate Flag Football Teams

Women's collegiate flag football has continued to grow in popularity since the first NAIA varsity teams began competing in 2021. The map below shows all 66 current varsity teams that are competing for the 2025 season and color-coded by their primary governing body affiliation. If there is a varsity team missing from the map below, please let us know!

Please note that club teams are not included, however, we encourage club teams to provide their information as well. We would like to record competing club teams and incorporate them into the graphics below for the community's reference. There's also a list of future women's flag football teams.

List of Current Teams

For all teams competing at the varsity level of women's collegiate flag football in 2025, the below table provides information related to each school and its governing body (NCAA, NAIA, etc.), the conference the flag football team competes, and the athletic website. Schools without a known flag football conference are classified as an independent team. The table is searchable and can be sorted by affiliation, flag football conference, or school name.

There are currently four NCAA and NAIA conferences that sponsor the sport for the 2025 season: the CIAA (D-II), Atlantic East (D-III), KCAC (NAIA), and the Sun (NAIA). A fifth league was announced by the NFL's Minnesota Vikings that involves six schools from Minnesota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. That league is unnamed but is referred to as the "Vikings League" in the table below.

Three more NCAA conferences have announced they will sponsor the sport in 2026: Conference Carolinas (D-II), Empire 8 (D-III), and the United East (D-III).
